Bitmap Monogram,
4-Letter System, Sequential Type Work
Bitmap Monogram:
The Bitmap Monogram consisted of creating a system using three letters. This system had to be recognizable throughout all three of the letters, and had to have defining parts that individuals could point out. This project ended up challenging me due to the fact that I find it difficult to create systems that look like they fit together seemlessly. I had to force myself to think differently about this project than I have about similar situations in order to create a well fitting system.
4-Letter System:
The 4-Letter System challenged us to once again create a unified system between a span of a few letters, but this time, instead of startiing from scratch, we were given an R to build the system around. Also unlike the Bitmap Monogram, we were able to impliment curves into this system. This project came alot easier to me than the other system creation because I was given a blueprint to work from. I enjoyed being able to interpret the R into my own order.
Sequential Type:
The Sequential Type assigment tasked us with creating an accordian fold page with two, ten letter words that melded seemlessly together. We were only allowed to use a few colors for a palette which caused some difficulties in trying to connect the pages well, but ultimately I believe that I achieved an excellent conclusion to this project.
